If you’ve ever felt like God might have called the wrong girl, you’re in good company.
When God called Moses, he pushed back with a list of reasons why he wasn’t qualified: “I’m slow of speech… I’m not eloquent… Please send someone else.”
(Been there.)
But God doesn’t entertain our excuses. He answers with His presence.
Scripture Focus:
“Then Moses said to the Lord, ‘Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent… I am slow of speech and tongue.’ The Lord said to him, ‘Who gave human beings their mouths?… Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.’” – Exodus 4:10–12 (NIV)
Moses didn’t feel ready—and you might not either. But feeling ready was never the requirement.
Saying yes was.
We often believe the lie that we need to have more training, more time, or more confidence before we can step into what God is calling us to do. But the Kingdom doesn’t run on credentials. It runs on obedience.
God doesn’t call the prepared—He prepares the called.
He knows you’re not perfect. He also knows you’re chosen. That’s why His response to your insecurity is the same as it was to Moses:
“Now go… I will help you.”
The truth is, you'll grow as you go. Your courage will rise as you take faithful steps. But it all starts with one holy yes.
Reflection Question
If this message stirred something in you, take a few moments to slow down and reflect. These questions aren’t about getting the “right” answers—they’re about making space to hear what God might be saying to your heart today.
Where are you hesitating to obey because you don’t feel qualified, and what would it look like to say yes anyway?
